WORKPLACE SAFETY POLICY

 

The safety and health of our employees at CSA Industrial Supplies Limited is our foremost business consideration. No employee will be required to do a job that he or she considers unsafe. The company will comply with all applicable workplace safety and health requirements and maintain occupational safety and health standards that equal or exceed the best practices in the industry. The company will maintain a safety committee, which consists of management and our employees. Our responsibility will be identifying hazards and unsafe work practices, removing obstacles to accident prevention and helping evaluate the company’s effort to achieve an accident and injury-free workplace. The company pledges to do the following:- Strive to achieve the goal of zero accidents and injuries. Provide mechanical and physical safeguards wherever they are necessary. Conduct routine safety and health inspections to find and eliminate unsafe working conditions, control health hazards and comply with all applicable OR-OSHA safety and health requirements. Train all employees in safe work practices and procedures. Provide employees with necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) and train them to use and care for it properly. Enforce company safety and health rules and require employees to follow the rules as a condition of employment. Investigate accidents to determine the cause and prevent similar accidents from happening in the future. The company recognizes that management, supervisors and all other employees share responsibility for a safe and healthful workplace. Management is accountable for preventing workplace injuries and illnesses. Management will consider all employee suggestions for achieving a safer, healthier workplace. Management also will keep informed about workplace safety and health hazards and regularly review the company’s safety and health program. Supervisors are responsible for supervising and training workers in safe work practices. Supervisors must enforce company rules and ensure that employees follow safe practices during their work. All employees have responsibility for their own safety as well as the safety of their fellow workers. They are expected to participate in the safety and health program which includes immediately reporting accidents, hazards and unsafe work practices to a supervisor or safety committee representative, the wearing of required personal protective equipment and participating in and supporting safety committee activities.

HEALTH and SAFETY POLICY STATEMENT

 

CSA Industrial Supplies Limited recognizes its duty to comply with the Health and Safety Work Act 1974.

CSA Industrial Supplies Ltd. will as far as is reasonably practicable:

Provide adequate resources to maintain health and safety.
Carry out risk assessments and review them when necessary.
Provide and maintain systems of work which are safe and without risk to health.
Establish arrangements for the use, handling, storage and transport of articles and substances provided for use at work which are safe and without risk to health.
Provide employees with such information, instruction, training and supervision as is necessary to secure their safety and health at work and that of others who may be affected by their actions.
Carry out health surveillance where required.
Ensure that all machinery, plant and equipment are maintained in a safe working condition.
Make adequate provision and arrangements for welfare facilities at work.
Keep the workplace safe and ensure that access and egress are safe and without risk.
Monitor safety performance to maintain agreed standards.

The duties of employees are to:

Take reasonable care of their own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by their acts or omissions at work.
Co-operate with others in the company to fulfill our statutory duties.
Not interfere with, misuse or willfully damage anything provided in the interest of health and safety.

To ensure that this policy is effective, we will:

Review it annually, or on significant changes in our business, make any such changes known to employees.
Maintain procedures for communication and consultation between all levels of staff on matters of health, safety and welfare.
